TEXFest 2025
What is TEXFest?
TEXFest is an annual community theater competition that brings together local theater groups to perform and compete in a vibrant showcase of dramatic and comedic talent. This event celebrates the creativity and passion of community actors, directors, and playwrights, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and artistic excellence.
When and Where is TEXFest?
TEXFest 2025 will be held in Victoria, TX from March 12- 16, 2025 at the Leo J. Welder Center for the Performing Arts in Victoria, TX. Two acts from TEXFest 2025 will move on to perform at South West Theatre Conference (SWTC) and potentially on to perform at the National AACTFest.
What Show Will the Plaza Perform at TEXFest?
An Experiment, by Brent Holland
About the Show: Portrayed in a fantasy world, five confused participants wake up with no memory of their past life … with only one word, a personality descriptor (such as compassionate, courageous or orderly) written in type on their shirts. The doctor explains that each is here willingly, and that they are all being compensated for their participation in a research study. Will the assigned attribute of each participant affect their behavior when under extreme duress? Once the experiment begins and they find out that to lose is to die, all five do what they must to survive the experiment. The Hunger Games meets Survivor in this experiment.
Will There Be a Local Performance?
Yes. A performance of An Experiment will be held at the Plaza. Dates and times to be announced.
